i have just bought a xbox360 arcade pack, and signed up with xbox live with my windows live account etc. how do i get the free 1 month live subscription? Is it active now, and do i just put a live-enabled game in and just choose online play, or is there something else to it?

on the back of the subscription card you have a number, like a lottery ticket you have to scratch off to get the number. it will be a 25 digit number, enter the number either online at www.xbox.com or from you xbox counsel marketplace

when you gave them your credit card information there should have been an area to input any "promotional codes". that's where/when you would have done it.

When it asks you to choose gold or silver membership, it should say one month free next to the gold membership option and you just select that. When you sign in to Xbox Live, if your gamertag is highlighted in gold then you have gold membership. Hope this helps =)
