I respect most views from the other side. I respect those that use actual thought and facts to support their debate. I can't stand those conspiracy theorists and people that resort to name calling.

Being a liberal progressive green party member, I respect both sides of:

1) gun control - I'm probably undecided on this

2) pro-choice vs. right to life (although people who want to preserve every life killing abortion doctors I don't understand) - I'm very pro-choice but can understand the alternative view

I do not respect the other side on:

1) the War in Iraq, or pretty much any war of agression

2) universal health care

3) welfare (because if the gap between rich and poor is allowed to get too large the poor will kill the rich - seems the rich conservatives would realize this)

I respect any opinion, even if I don't agree, as long as it is presented in a mature, well-thought, responsible manner. I'm not above saying that I can't change my mind. I switched parties several years ago, in fact - and yes, before the Bush years.

My personal hang-up, that I can't seem to be able to accept, is universal healthcare. I just don't like it, for many, many reasons.

I use to suffer from contempt prior to investigation and now I respect that journey others are on, and make sure I research the facts and information thoroughly before presenting a side of the debate.

It would be a lot easier to if they wouldn't attack our Ideas and thoughts! If something isn't their idea or goes against how they think they attack! some times not the subject but a misspelled word or not so good sentence structure!
