I live in a apt?

i live in an apartment building with very limited parking space due to the fact that collage kids have there friend over and they take up the space and people who do live there have no place to park and if the people who live there park in the wrong spot they get there car towed because of the lack of parking due to the people who don't live there take them all, can the landlords do that?

If you get home and there is no parking immediately go to the landlord/manager and demand they find you a legal spot to park. Don't worry if it's late, in fact being woken a couple times may help get the problem addressed. If they don't and your car gets towed sue the landlord in small claims for the cost of getting your car back, don't forget to include any missed work etc.

yes they can

you should ask for parking permits

most apartment have them

simple stickers registered to your car ( if no pre determined spot, though some apartments have that too )

a few guest spot are left, all non apartment cars left on properly are towed

To be blunt...and brutal....find the cars that are questionable...for sure....and just go down the street to a pay phone. And start calling the towing companies. They pay for the tow when they go pick it up. Never done this, but I'm sure it's not tough. See if you can get away with not giving your real name or none at all. Just tell them there is a vehicle in your yard that doesn't belong there.

Or, block them in. Park right behind them. See how big their cha-hunkas are then, to come and ask you to move.

Well they can, but you need to tell the landlord the problem with the people having their friends taking the parking and that THEY should be towing their cars...or YOU should place a note on the cars if they don't live there and tell them that the need to move their car. There is limited parking where I live too, and I placed a note on a car saying that if they didn't move I would have their car towed. It took them a while to move their car but they DID move it!!

Good luck

talk to the landlords and suggest putting numbers on the spaces for the particular apartments all others towed away at the owner's expense
