Live TV shows.?

I know that they say that the TODAY show is live, but it says Live-est. but what does Live-EST mean? Does it mean it is only live in the Eastern time zone? I live in the central time zone, so is it delayed like an hour or two? Please explain how live tv works with time zones and stuff.

Live TV shows.?

EST= Eastern Standard Time

There are three time zone's in the USA. When you are broadcasting a live show from New York @ 7am it's still 4am in Los Angles. It's The same here in Australia we have three time zones EST= eastern standard time CST= central standard time and WST=western standard time. I work in television we have to put these prompts up, All breaking news and local news is live from local or regional TV stations. In a CT time zone there is a half an hour to an hour delay from a real time broadcast coming from NY depending your time zone difference from NY est time. So there is a delay . Being Daylight savings in Australia we have five time zone as some states refuse daylight savings (It's a pain broadcasting a live show to the different five time zones) normally fills my whole shift working on the one show while broadcasting and also recording other live show which follows at the same time.
